Master Photographer Dieter Nagel

That German photographer Dieter Nagel is a master photographer is, of course, evident by his work: “Public Nudists” and “Shaven Nudists” – two hard cover photo books; “nudissimo” is a paperback series, and also as a regular contributor to nudist magazines like “H&E Naturist”. A sports photographer, who specializes in covering tennis matches, he, in fact, wears two hats: Dieter is also an expert in making his nude models look even better when they face his camera.

Two examples of his recent work are pictures of exquisite models Tina and Doreen. Both are featured in the current calendar published by The World of the Nudest Nudist (WNN), headquartered in the <country-regionw:ston><placew:ston>Netherlands. The organization – with an internal membership – promotes shaved genitalia (of both sexes), which they call “smooth”.

Tina and Doreen are standing next to each other (shown on the calendar cover) in a garden, and they could pass for twins. Tina is the one with the decorated navel. Both are blond, and, of course, smooth. But it turns out that they are not even related. These beautiful models are not professionals either – modelling nude is a sideline.

Doreen is an assistant in a physiotherapist’s office. She had never posed nude before, when she decided to join a photo session of her friend Tina. While Dieter took pictures of Tina in an old villa ruins, Doreen was asked to get ready and just wait a moment. And when Dieter asked her – by now nude – to pose next to Tina, she felt so natural to pose as if she’d done it hundreds of times before. The cover photo of her and Tina is her favorite. It didn’t take long for her to really enjoy posing nude.

Tina works in the claims department of a large auto manufacturer. After the picture session in the old villa was over, the three of them decided to go to a near by swimming pool to cool off. Although the pool was not even “clothing optional”, Dieter asked them to remove their tops. They both got carried away and stripped completely. Dieter immediately resumed taking pictures of them. A number of young boys were enchanted by what they saw and kept swimming around them. Dieter continued taking pictures, and the girls both liked the attention very much.

Some older women shook their heads, but the pool manager didn’t mind at all. In fact, after the ssesion, he asked for some copies of the photos.

Tina stated that yes, it was fun to tease the boys (about twelve to fifteen years old). She didn’t know what she would have done if the boys had been about ten years older.

It appears that the above situation would not cause much of a ripple in <country-regionw:ston><placew:ston>Germany. In puritan <country-regionw:ston><placew:ston>United States it would have been different.

Tina continued: “when I told my sister about the experience, she laughed, and said that she would never had done that, but would have loved to be there”. When she saw the prints, and knowing the circumstances, she expressed surprise at how natural the pictures looked, like being the only people at the lake, and being in paradise.

The obvious question came to mind: will she pose nude for Dieter? Her response: “I’ll think about it!”

Tina is a horseback riding enthusiast. She and her horse are in many excellent photos in the book “Shaven Nudists” by Dieter Nagel. She also had a special interest in professional tennis – a Dieter Nagel specialty. She became a fan of Steffi Graf and visited the German Open tennis tournament in <statew:ston><placew:ston>Berlin. She met Dieter Nagel while at the tournament in <statew:ston><placew:ston>Hamburg, and they became friends. He arranged for her to get a player’s guest pass. She learned that Dieter

focused on erotic photography besides the sports photography. His work so impressed her that she asked him for a shooting session. Although she had never been to a nude beach before, she really enjoyed posing nude for Dieter.

How does Dieter manage to meet so many very beautiful young women who readily agree to pose nude – something they had never done before?

To recruit new talent, Dieter usually takes a walk along the nude beaches of the North Sea or <placew:ston>Baltic Sea. Whenever realizing a likely prospect, he politely approaches her.

It isn’t only his personality, as meanwhile he is in a position to present a large selection of his work. The women see artistic nude photographs, and are impressed. A shooting session results in most of the time.

Meanwhile he additionally runs ads in various magazines, and the results are quite impressive. The magazines he selects have a large circulation, and the response he receives is very impressive. His internet website www.dieternagel.de helps in the presentation. 

What often helps is if the model he is currently working with has a younger sister or friend. She then asks her model sister or friend to introduce her to the photographer, and another nude model is born.

It happens quite frequently that the new model is very flattered at having been asked. They are delighted with the results when they see their pictures in print, be it a magazine or hard cover book. Should the picture wind up on the cover of the book, they are really thrilled. Some don’t put the book on the coffee table at home, but rather on the book shelf. But all of them are very proud of themselves and let everybody know that they made it to the book cover; just like Tina, who has framed some of her favorite pics and hung them on the wall of her living room.

At first, Tina was somewhat reticent to pose nude, afraid of what “people” will say when they found out. Then she came to the very realistic conclusion that she “has nothing to hide” and is quite proud of herself. After all, she is being greatly admired, and that certainly helps her ego. All of the published pictures of her are very artistic, and that is something to be proud of.

When she first started posing nude – sometimes in places where she and her photographer were not exactly alone – she noticed people watching from a distance. She was really “thrilled” at being admired, and didn’t mind at all. She often thinks back to those days, and feels quite good about herself. She admits to being somewhat of an exhibitionist, wearing “see through” clothes weather permitting. More admiring glances!

Her modelling partner Doreen has the same attitude toward nude modelling. She, too, has enjoyed being admired at the swimming pool, for instance, when she and Tina were the only ones being nude. It is quite an uplifting feeling, being the center of attention for all those men!

Tina’s younger sister, having admired her sister’s photos, asked to introduce her to the photographer, as she decided she will also pose nude.

Model Doreen, not only being very lovely, is also blessed with an understanding boyfriend. He is proud of her and does not mind her posing nude for artistic magazines. It seems one has to go shopping for an understanding husband/boyfriend.
